Side Shifters
Sideshifters are the most common additional attachment encountered on forklift trucks. The sideshifter allows lateral shift of the load, taking the truck capacity into account, of +/- 100 up to +/- 160 mm. In special execution the so called container sideshifter is available which allows a wider side shift (Possible restrictions in the capacity set by the truck manufacturer should be taken into account). Due to the wide distribution of the sideshifter as an attachment, it is increasingly supplied for integrating into the mast i.e. replacing the fork carriage

Multi-side Shifter
Multi Sideshifters are attachments which are, to a large extent, the most common attachments encountered in brickworks. According to the execution they allow the pick up of two, three or even four transport units. The application of the forklift trucks is therefore considerably rationalized. Kaup Multi Siedeshifters have a basic sideshift, with which the whole load can be pushed on to the fork carriage. The two, three or four additional fork carriages are either all, or singly, moveable hydraulically. Consequently this allows the moving together or apart of the units.

The Multi Sideshifters should only be applied where always the exact number of transport units will be picked up, other wise the load would be off center and damage to the mast could occur.

Fork Positioner
After sideshifters the most popular attachments for forklift trucks are Fork Positioners. They are an important supplement of the forklift truck especially where the width of the load constantly changes. Adjustment of the distance between forks to accommodate different widths is a important aspect of safeguard in this kind of operation. Kaup realises the importance of these attachments and has therefore three different ranges in its programme.

The range T 163 SN:

Inexpensive, simple Fork Positioner with absolutely symmetrical fork adjustment via positive synchronism over a roller chain. The original forklift truck forks can be used. The construction width and therefore the opening range of the attachment is not dependent on the width of the fork carriage of the forklift truck. Also available without sideshift (T 163 N).

The range T 466: extremely variable concept with a total of four different executions

T 466 - hook on construction allowing the use of the original

truck forks

T 466 Z - hook on cunstruction with forks welded on

T 466 I - integrated construction allowing the use of the original

truck forks

T 466 IZ - integrated constructions with forks welded on

Especially the both integrated versions with welded on forks offer an excellent residual capacity. The hook on versions are also available without sideshift.

The ranges T 411 Z, T 411 BZ, T 411 BZI:

Fork Positioners for extremely tough operation. The T 411 Z range of Fork Positioners is based on the T 400 Clamp range. The forks can be opened further than the construction width of the clamp body. Due to the large profile covering between fork guide and clamp body, spreading forces e.g. for the transportation of coils or cable drums, can easily be done. Separate sideshift enables the load to be handled with the forks fully opened or closed together.

The BZ and BZI executions have the so called valve block sideshift. (No sideshift possible when the forks are opened to the widest position). The size of the sideshift is a function of the distance between forks. This execution is standard conception for large opening ranges - zo ti 4400 mm measured over the outer edges of forks. The BZI versions is for integrating into the mast instead of a fork carriage to achieve even better residual capacities.

Multi-pallet Handlers
Multi Pallet Handers

Multi Pallet Handers are, as with multi sideshifters, specific for transporting several pallets or transport units simultaneously. Contary to the Multi sideshifters the forks of the forks of the Multi Pallet Handlers can be moved together or spread apart as required. Therefore a center pick up of the load is guaranteed. Multi Pallet Handlers are indispensable for rational inner company transport where palletized goods have to be moved. Initially they were found in the Brewery, Mineral Water and Bottling Industries. Today they are can be found in even larger numbers but are also becoming more and more popular in other branches. Please orientate yourself with the selection criteria according to the following scheme.

The basic execution of the Kaup Rotator is equipped with a fork carriage and forks. It can be rotated 360° endless. Containers with a slip in underlay can be turned for emptying. Original truck forks with normal widths can be fixed by means of square stops. Included in the delivery., which are bolted onto the lower carriage bar. Bolt holes in the stops offset to all four sides for safe fixing. This is the range of the highest load strain during rotation . KAUP Rotators are part of the range of the KAUP modular systems combination of rotating attachments.

KAUP Rotators, with and without sideshift, are also available in Explosion Proof execution with PTB certification.

Clamps
The family of KAUP Clamps

An essential feature of all KAUP volume attachments is a consequently constructed modular system which allows the combination of Sideshifters. Clamps and Rotators. The KAUP Clamp range 400 was fromulated in the middle of the 80’s and, from the beginning, took into account all regulation laid down by the European Community in 1986 (EEC 86/663). The clamp bodies in the 400 range differ in construction only in capacity and in widths.

Fork Clamp T 411

The Fork Clamp as an additional attachment can be found relatively often on forklift trucks. They are used for the transportation of palletised goods as well as for clamping purposes. Slip on arms in different execution. Easily turn the Fork Clamp into a special clamp.

KAUP-Fork Clamps are also available in Explosion Proof execution with PTB certification.

Harbour Clamp

The Harbour Clamp is a special version of the Fork Clamp. The carrying part of the fork, in addition to the normal tapering to about 2/3 of the fork length, is also tapered in the fork width. This makes it possible to also pick up transport goods in bales stored tightly next to each other. Attachments are standard equipped with protection of cylinders and sideshifter.

On the Fork Clamp with Turnable Forks, the carrying part of the forks is turnable by +/- 90°. Therefore the Fork Clamp with Turnable Forks is suitable for fork operation (transport of palletised goods, grate boxes etc.) as well as for clamping of bales, boxes and cartons. If the carrying parts are tuned only 45 ° a prism is formed which allows easy transportation of drums or other cylindrical objects. Therefore the Fork Clamp with Turnable Forks is a very versatile attachment. Turning of the carrying parts can be done manually (standard as well as hydraulically (additional hydraulic circuit via solenoid valve required).

Block Clamps T 412 V clamp arm max. 1200 mm

The Block Clamp grips the packets of blocks / bricks form the side and therefore requires a bit more free space compared to the overhead Block Clamp. The clamping arms of this execution are executed with an easily exchangeable polyurethane wear and tear bar in order to reduce the friction between the clamping arms and the load as well as prevent pressure marks on bricks which are not completely dry. The arms of the clamps listed under “H - execution” are hollows and are filled with grease or oil. Small pistons are situated in these fluid filled hollows. The contact pads simply adjust to the geometrical form of the material to be transported and are easily exchangeable.

Slip on Clamping Arms
Slip-on clamping arms are a further accessory to upgrade fork clamps and clamps with turnable forks as well as their rotating combinations. Any fork clamp or clamp with turnable forks which is usually used for transportation of pallets can be upgraded to become a special clamp by using a specific slip on arm to suit the goods to be clamped. Please observe: Using slip-on arms on turnable forks is only allowed when the fork blade is turned by 90° to vertical position.
Drum Clamps
The Drum Clamp can transport 1 or 2 drums palletless and safely. The clamping arms are standardly coated with rubber. They accommodate the geometrical form of the drums to be transported or are executed in prism form. Standardly fitted with pressure indicator.

Kaup Drum Clamps are also available in Explosion Proof execution

Rotating Clamps

Reach Forks
These attachments allow loading of lorries or railway wagons from the side. The load can be pushed to the opposite side of the loading platform. Reach Forks are mainly used for palletize goods or where it is possible to slip the forks in beneath the load. Forks are often combined with a Fork Possitioner / KAUP range T 163 or T 466).

The Pantograph is normally found where Clamps or Multi claps are mounted on the fork carriage.

Telescopic fork on request.

Pantograph-pusher
Pantograph - Pusher allows to load or unload lorries and trucks from one side only.
Back Rest - Load Stabilizer
Load stabilizers are mainly used in the beverage industries and are often combined with multi pallet handlers or multiple side shifters.
Hydraulically presses the load from above onto the forks of the lift truck by means of a rubber-lined plate.

Backrests ensure that part of the load does not slip backwards between attachment and mast. In various countries load backrests are regulation.
